Update on 6 books shipping + free coding blocks for backers

Dear Backers, we hope you are staying safe with your families over these last few months. We apologize that we haven't updated you in a while about the status of the remaining 6 books which many of you ordered. We were waiting to have good news for you before posting an update. We took a major hit in our supply chain in March with border closures and this lasted all the way through May. We've only recently resumed working with our manufacturing partners in Asia and over the last 2 months have completed the production of the remaining 6 books which you ordered. As of today, all the long lead-time parts are finished (books, maps, craft pieces, packaging, coding blocks) and we are just waiting to burn the SD cards (which can take 10-15 days). See below for images from our different factories. We anticipate that by late August/early September we will begin shipping the remaining 6 books to you. We apologize for the delay here and appreciate all of your patience. 

We've also made some updates/changes to these 6 book packs based on feedback we received: 

•  We made the songs for each singing block different for each SD card. So you will now have a collection of 6 different songs for each of the singing blocks you have. 
• We made the craft pieces out of strong white paperboard to make it easier to color and draw on them (currently they are made of wood, which makes it difficult to draw on, and also make the robot heavier and a bit slower
• We included an extra surprise puzzle in each add on box which we hope can help with developing spacial thinking for your kids. 

Finally, we've also created a few extra coding block packs (singing, coding and movement) and would be happy to provide each of you with a free coding block pack of your choice for your patience. If you would like to receive one of these packs please send an email to [email protected] or Whatsapp message to (+1-707-732-4919) and mention your backer number and the email you used to back the campaign. As part of this offer, we would also appreciate if you could send us your thoughts about how you're enjoying Mochi so far and maybe a photo or video of Mochi in your home. We want to understand what we can improve in the next version of the product and how we can create the best experience for you and our future customers.

We don't monitor the Kickstarter campaign as often so if something urgent comes up please send us an email!

Hello!

We hope you are having a great start to 2020! We have a quick update for you about 3 main things:

- Your feedback about the product

- Shipping of the additional books and maps

- January shipping of the core kit

Today we launched a community forum where all of you can have one place to leave us feedback (things you like and what we can improve), what you are doing with your Mochi and what additional book topics we should start developing. Here at Mochi, we have been very busy getting your additional books and maps ready to ship to you before Chinese New Year began and all our suppliers went home for the holidays. The good news is that shipping has already begun for the next set of 5 books, maps and craft pieces and you will begin receiving these over the next few weeks. We anticipate that by the end of February everyone will have received their products. For US customers we placed all the products on a ship that will arrive in the US in a few weeks. From there we will begin shipping directly to US customers. From shipping the core kit we realized that working directly with a local fulfillment company in China caused a lot of issues for everyone (from incorrect addresses to delays in shipping). We are working with more established fulfillment companies now, and this is why the shipping will only be finished by the end of Feb.

For all the January deliveries of the core kit, your product has been sent out! If you have questions or can't get something to work, please send us an email to [email protected] or just write on the community forum and others who have had the same question or issue will help you out.

Dear Mochi family,

We are so excited to welcome you to the world of hands-on coding with Mochi bear! Over the next 24-48 hours, shipping and tracking numbers will be sent to your email addresses. 

To clear customs faster, we shipped the core robotics kit (Explorer Kit) as a standalone package, so every backer who chose a Mochi Kit pledge will receive the core kit as soon as this weekend, and certainly before Christmas. Backers of the Creative Kits and Inventor's Kits will receive additional shipments from the Mochi Story Library as follows:

• If you backed the Creator’s Kit, you will receive the extra 5 Story Books and Story Maps before December 25th as well. 🎁🎁
• If you backed the Inventor’s Kit, you will receive the extra 5 Story Books and Story Maps before December 25th. And you will receive the other 6 Story Books and Story Maps in the new year. 🎁🎁🎁

No matter where you are this holiday season, we wish you a wonderful time filled with love, magic, and play.
